Around the same time when New Territoyr was considered independent,Glasgow, New Territory, suffered a series of similar natural disasters all at the same time titled the 2002 Glasgow floods. These flash floods happened subsequently to severe thunderstorms or when there is excessive rain in a short period of time. The most affected part of Glasgow was the east side where over 200 people had to evacuate their homes in order to have maximum safety from this devastating tragedy that left citizens shoulder high in water. Transportation systems were closed down due to extensive flooding and landslides. Sometime during the flooding a water parasite was found in Mugdock Reservoir called cryptosporidium that can cause severe bowel symptoms and all of that area in Scotland was told to not drink tap water unless it was boiled first.Over 14,000 New Territorians were affected.
Volcanoes
New Territory, as many know, is a mountainous country with over 25 higher points of elevation and have fantastic heights hence the term, Territorial Highlands. What other people might not know is that New Territory is also home to volcanoes that are over 340 million years old. Volcanic eruptions are caused by a rupture in the earth which leads to hot lava, volcanic ash,and gases to be realised from magma chambers in the earth. The main and only occurrence for a volcano to form is because the earth is divided into 17 rigid tectonic plates that lay on a hotter or softer layer in our earths crust. A volcano forms when the tectonic plates move together or apart . Active volcanos are a major hazard to people and/or land especially when near the mass while it’s exploding. Land is affected because natural land formations or man made things can be ultimately destroyed like trees. Being close to an active volcano can prove to be a major safety hazard. Obsidian is a result of volcanic ashes or rocks that erupt from a volcano into water and once it cools down the rocks form into obsidian.

The last time this volcano, known as Glen Coe,erupted was approximately 42 million years ago so this volcano and others in New Territory are not necessarily prone to eruptions that have been recent. The eruption of this volcano caused a catastrophic result. This eruption caused about thousands of cubic kilometers of lava erupting from the volcano. There are multiple other volcanoes in New Territory such as Arthurs Seat, Ardnamurchan, and Castle Rock.

Flora & Fauna
After doing some research on New Territory and it’s ecological regions and found out some key information about them. New Territory has 2 ecological regions: The North Atlantic Moist Mixed Forest and The Celtic Broadleaf Forests which both dominate Ireland but extend further into the UK. Each region has a crucial impact on the entirety of the land mass especially affecting the flora and fauna of the country. The flora and fauna of my country is diverse across the whole region.
The North Atlantic Moist Mixed Forests:
Climate:This ecoregion has a mild climate with warm summers and cool winters very much like the rest of the United Kingdom. The region has a subtropical climate which entitles that it has the ability to home the non-native New Zealand palm tree. It is fairly damp in New Territory and we expect rainfall all year round.
Deforestation:Deforestation in The North Atlantic Moist Mixed Forests occurred in the duration of the Bronze age well into the Medieval Times. The present situation with the deforestation in this region is that there is considerable habitat loss in those areas. While we were faced with the devastation of this unfortunate occurrence about 80-90 percent of primordial forest was destroyed. This was caused by habitat fragmentation and the plantation of alien species.
Celtic Broadleaf Forests:
Climate:
Much like The North Atlantic Moist Mixed forests, this region is naturally damp on land and in the air. We expect rain all year round in this region and have a sub-tropical climate meaning it is quite mild in this region. Although it is mild it wouldn’t be as mild if it weren’t for the Gulf Stream that laps the UK and brings in a lot of heat and moisture into the country/region.
Deforestation:The Celtic Broadleaf Forest region experienced significant forest degradation and started with with agriculture in the mid-Holocene.This also occurred due to the plantation of alien specimens and poor forest management in the majority of the region.

Resources
A natural resource of a country is a raw material extracted from the said country. Natural resources are key for trade and used for a wide range of needs including, lumber for building, water for drinking, coal for electricity, oil for gas, and many more. New Territory carries many natural resources in their country including the very popular wheat which is a key ingredient in scotch which originates from distillery districts in Whisky regions. Trade is order and the world needs order. Not all countries have access to resources that others do. For example, Japan may carry coal but has no oil. On the other hand London might have oil but no coal. Both these countries are missing valuable resources so if they decide to give the same fraction of oil and coal to each other they trade.
Raw material-A resource after it has been extracted but before it has been processed
Natural Resource-A substance occurring naturally in the earth that can be used to produce goods
Primary Industry-The stage of industry concerned with the extraction of raw materials.
Secondary Industry-Stage concerned with the manufacturing (creating)of products.
Tertiary Industry-Stage concerned with selling to the public.
Oil-Over 42 million barrels of oil have been extracted from the North Sea near New Territory’s coast.
Fish-In 2009 366, 569 were found in Territorial waters.
Gold-4.5 tonnes of gold were found in the Territorial Highlands.
Trees-There are over 25 native species of trees in New Territory.
Water-There are over 31, 460 bodies of water in New Territory.
Cotton-1867 406 016 000 pounds of cotton was farmed in New Territory.
Sand-There is sand bordering every lake in New Territory and the coast across the sea and ocean surrounding the country.
Soil-Agriculture is a huge part of Territorial exports which entitles that New Territory should have a respected amount of soil to farm that much and maintain the cattle.
Moss Agate and Quartz-Both are unique minerals and are found in old mines in New territory. The Central Belt contains a third of the UK’s igneous rock aggregate quarries.
Reasons for uses:
Oil: Extract only one eighth for personal uses like plastic industry then 2 eighths for trade in exchange for coal to power train routes and heating as well as trade one eighth for money to power economic industries like teaching jobs and community uses. I should use this because oil is expensive and we are in need of coal to power electricity in a cheap way.
Fish:Three eighths for shipping to landlocked countries in return for lumber due to deforestation in New Territory. Five eighths for personal uses and for a strong fish industry to provide a wide range of food sources.
Gold:Extract only half of the amount to trade for solar panels to power New Territory’s electricity. Trade for lumber as well to help with deforestation in the Highlands.
Trees:Extract one half for paper and trade for money to provide the highlands with proper amount of lumber in order to power a large mining district with forest. Deforestation is high in the highlands so to provide them with lumber is to create a stronger paper industry.
Water:Extract three fourths to filter and use for drinking water as well as plumbing and keep the rest for back up. I chose this because we need plumbing in order to provide a well rounded economy.
Cotton:Farm as much as possible and use one quarter for trade and keep three fourths for personal uses towards clothing New Territorians to keep a decent presentation.
Sand:Use half of the sand for window manufacturing every year because windows are important for lighting rooms and lowering electricity bills.
Soil:Use all my soil for agriculture in order to maintain good crops and further strengthen my immigration rate from different countries.
Moss Agate and Quartz:Use half for jewelry and for trade to import diamond to strengthen my jewelry trade and keep my New Territorians happy.
As seen in the chart above New Territory has a diverse amount of resources spanning across all of the land. These resources are well known and are used for a variety of reasons as well as carry their individual issues. Some of the uses of these resources or most popular uses are as followed, personal country uses or trade. Trade is what keeps the world running, it gives an efficient way of providing countries in need of a certain supply with another supply.
All these resources are important to New Territory because they provide the materials needed to keep a sustainable life. Water is probably the utmost important resource in a country because nobody can live without water, it can be used for drinking water, showering, cleaning, ALS ice bucket challenge, and so on. All of the resources mentioned in this reference add up to an important factor in everyday life, we’d have no clothes, we’d have no plastic or gas, we’d have no food, we’d have no paper. Without any of these resources we wouldn’t be able to survive and none of us would exist.
